Why we live where we live.
It's the simple things in life that counts
We love the simple things - gorgeous beaches, a friendly community, fishing off the islands, coffee and toast in the morning, being in the great outdoors. That's why we moved to Western Australia's south coast more than a decade ago and never looked back.
Originally from Ireland, we started our hospitality career in the small Western Australian town of Denmark in 1995 and ran two establishments - Mary as chef, Patrick as front man - before opening the Naked Bean café in Albany in 2001, launching our journey into coffee roasting.
We opened a dedicated coffee roasting operation at the Naked Bean Warehouse in 2002. It's now our buzzing headquarters - the place where people meet, drink coffee, buy beans and smell the latest batch roasting in our trusty Portugese roaster.
We have a loyal local following with whom we love to share our passion for great coffee. We're also passionate about the community at large.
We're active in the Albany surf life saving club and sponsor several of its events and initiatives. We're supporters of youth events and anything that encourages people to get active and engaged. We sponsor the Great Southern component of the Perth International Arts Festival plus many other artistic and community events.
In between all that, we're dedicated to helping people get the most out of their daily coffee experience.
Here's to a rich life full of consistently great brews.
